The course offers the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Social Care. This course will help to develop and enhance the learner's management skills and to gain further knowledge and skills necessary to specialise in their chosen pathway within a variety of settings such as residential or nursing homes, supported living schemes and any other applicable settings.
This course offers the opportunity to progress to Higher Education in various health and social care disciplines such as nursing, social care and education. The knowledge and skills learnt are also transferable to other career pathways.
Based on the chosen framework, students will be studying mandatory units for example: Safeguarding and Effective Communication as well as optional units such as: Support for individuals at end of life and Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy from a pathway suited to the students individual needs/preferences and working environment.
Delivery will be completed within the workplace by an assessor, however, students may be required to attend college for some of the assessment process.
Students will be assessed by a professional and competent practitioner/assessor. This will mainly take place within the work environment through observations and a portfolio of evidence.
